PALM TREES AND PEACE – and not much else really!

At Malabar Cove in Edakkad, Kannur, North Kerala, South India, we are trying to keep a natural environment where guests can see village life and the beautiful Arabian Sea while taking a rejuvenating rest.

There are no cars and there is no light pollution, so at night the sky is as black as can be and the stars are a magnificent sight.

Malabar Cove is a perfect hideaway. A river sweeps round into the rocky cove where the Arabian Sea is busy each day with local fishermen in their colourful boats. There is a pretty little beach backed by a rocky hill which years ago used to house a fort.

Our Beach Houses are set in a coconut grove and offer accommodation in twin en-suite rooms plus an apartment with two bedrooms, a lounge/diner, a kitchen and a sit-out overlooking a narrow river and the beautiful Arabian Sea.

Malabar Cove Beach Houses are close to the famous Drive-in Beach of Muzhappilangad.

Meals can be purchased to order at Malabar Cove or guests can visit the cafe on the Drive-in Beach.

Yoga Groups welcome.

We can also cater for workshops and offer tuition in Kalarippayattu (the disciplined and spiritual martial arts of Kerala).

Ayurvedic treatments are available on site and follow up treatments can be taken in UK.

Accompanied  tours of Kerala available. Visits to other parts of India can also be arranged.

Within Malabar Cove, village life goes on. Fishermen walk down to the sea with their nets, coconuts are harvested and ladies bash their washing on their ‘house rocks’ – guests can do this too – though we do have a laundry service!
